Chessington World of Adventures have announced that it’s long running fun house “Hocus Pocus Hall” is going to be replaced with a brand new experience for the 2019 season. Room on the Broom | A Magical Journey. This will be the second attraction at the resort based around the stories of world renowned children’s author, Julia Donaldson. This announcement followed the successful opening of The Gruffalo River Adventure in 2017.

Julia Donaldson has said, “It’s lovely that families will be able to enter the Room on the Broom world and enjoy the story in a new way at Chessington World of Adventures Resort.”

Tim Harrison-Jones, Divisional Director at Chessington World of Adventures Resort added: “Following the success of The Gruffalo River Ride Adventure, we are excited as we hope our guests will be, to unveil our plans for another Julia Donaldson-inspired attraction and we can’t wait to open the doors to the enchanted library next year.”

As they enter the attraction families will be invited to visit the enchanted library. It’s here that a stormy wind blows sending the Witch’s Hat, Bow and Wand tumbling to the ground. Visitors will then be tasked with searching among the trees, fields and reeds of the house for the witch’s lost belongings alongside Dog, Bird and Frog.

Hocus Pocus Hall has been a staple attraction at the park since it opened in 2003. Welcoming guests of all ages the 4D walkthrough experience allowed guests to explore the winding corridors and bizarre rooms of a wizards magical manor, full of wondrous and ghostly surprises. Although many fans of the resort will be sad to see the Hall leave many will agree that it had been in dyer need of some proper TLC for quite awhile. This was only made even more evident when Chessington removed the 3D Glasses from the experience at the start of 2018.

Room on the Broom A Magical Journey is set to open at Chessington World of Adventures in early 2019.
